1940's hair?
So I was just wondering if there's a certain way you should get your haircut (certain type of layers, etc) if you want to be able to put in some hot rollers and give yourself some victory rolls and whatnot? Like, is there a cut that'll help rather than hinder your chances of it actually turning out like that, if you know what I mean.

This is my hair at this very moment: 
I'm sorry I look so terrrible, ignore that. It's reddish, but very faded, a little less than right at my shoulders, but looks a lot shorter because I always curl it. My original cut was a Tegan and Sara look, a little mullet-ish. I enjoyed it at first, but now that it's growing out, I feel like it looks weird with the front being shorter than the back. I want to grow my hair out, so I'm not really looking to cut much of it, but a couple ideas wouldn't hurt. I'm mainly looking for styling ideas, if anyone has any. I don't have any pictures of it straightened, as I never do that anymore, so I apologize for that. I really like this style: 
and I feel like my hair is ALMOST long enough in the front to do it, but that takes a lot off in the back.
ALSO, I'm looking for something to do with my color. I probably can't pull of blond, but I really want to. Here's a better picture of my skin tone:
That's when I had brown hair, after bleaching the front part. Now it's like that, but a little more red. I really love the chocolate brown color of the last picture I posted, but I can't decide on what I want to do. NOW, for my questions: 1. Should I just go ahead and get the a-line? Would it look okay on me? Maybe something else?
2. Color ideas? What would look best? I don't know that I could do blond, but tell me what you think, and if you know any specific color names/brands (of any shade, browns, reds, blondes, whatever)!

long hair, don't care
so i've been growing out my hair since february and i decided that i need change because it's too long for it's own good. it's about waist length right now and i'm planning on cutting about 4, maybe 5 inches off so that it's still somewhat long but still noticeably shorter. i was thinking something choppy all over? because my hair is kinda thick and drastic/edgy as well. i want to play with different lengths so that it's part short/long. but, if you guys have any suggestions, do tell. =) thank you! and a couple of pictures incase it would help:   sorry for the grossness of them both. the second one is just so you can sorta see how long my hair is and the first one, i'm not sure. |

I don't think i've ever posted here, though i've certainly been lurking for the past 5 years. anyways, i used to have really short hair that i straightened every day when i was a freshman-sophomore, but i've been growing it out since my junior year. i graduated in 08, and my hair has since become disgustingly long and i think i want a change. my hair is really thin, and gets wavy when it's long. when it's short, it doesn't get wavy really, it just does this awkward flip on the ends. i don't want the lame hair i had when i was 15 anymore, but i do want short hair again, and suggestions from strangers would be greatly appreciated. ( hair timeline? ) |

HELP! So, back in April I shaved my head. I haven't had a real cut since then- only trims- and I'm getting pretty dang sick of it. I'm thinking of doing extentions, but I feel like my hair might be too short for them to look good. Help with colour and fighting fading?

Help!
Well i have blonde highlights on my medium brown hair, and i went to the stylist to get my roots done and now i have like little pieces of red on when it used to be brown hair and a little on the blonde (on my bangs)? I've been growing my hair out for about a year now and I'm just now starting to get sick of it. it's taking way too lng to blowdry and style. and im just getting super bored with it. i also cant seem to get it to grow past the point it's at now (no matter how healthy i try to keep it/trimming off dead ends when needed.) i think my hair just doesnt want to grow much more. it always has a mind of it's own. my hair now... pardon how greasy it looks in this first picture haha but its one o the most recent and shows my length pretty well    ( and this is what i'm thinking of. )opinions? or ideas/suggestions? anything will help! thanks! |

I must finally confess that I need hair halp. I've had every colour under the sun in the past ten or so years. But I seem to lack much creativity when it comes to a cut that actually works for me - this is mostly in part because I feel like the shape of my face (aka a circle) doesn't really have a suitable style, in my case at least. So here's part of a hair history just to show the different things I've had. ( hair history..it's pretty long )I hope someone can help/make some reccomendations cause I'm at my wits end with what I can do. Ideally I want to keep a fair amount of the length but liven it up a little? And while I miss being blonde (because it dried it out enough I didn't have to wash it every freaking day) I'm not sure if I can pull it off at all. Also I'm fairly sure I have to have a fringe, but I have no idea how long/what side/ how heavy etc. |

colour stripper
hey everyone :) i used to have bright blonde hair but after using a box dye on it (which was marked honey blonde!) it is now a dark brown which is okay but i miss my blonde :( i know that to bleach back to blonde would KILL my hair (as it was bleached blonde to begin with) so is colour stripper an option? i dont know much about it, and it would probably kill my hair just as much as bleach :( does anyone have any suggestions? thank you!! xxx |
